C’est sans doute le seul espace où les émotions sous toutes leurs formes, y compris la douleur et les peurs, peuvent à la fois s’exprimer et être transformées par la beauté. Deux compositeurs majeurs incarnent puissamment cette idée : Jean-Sébastien Bach, notamment dans son fameux Actus tragicus, où la musique opère une véritable transfiguration de la peur de la mort, et Félix Mendelssohn, dans ses impressionnants Psaumes a cappella.
L’Ensemble la Sportelle est une production Rocamadour – Musique sacrée. Aline Foriel-Destezet est mécène principale de l’Ensemble la Sportelle. La Caisse des Dépôts est grand mécène de l’Ensemble la Sportelle. Il est soutenu par le CNM, Cauvaldor et la Fondation Orange. Il est membre associé de la FEVIS et membre de Profedim.
